I have been looking forward to doing another PBP for four
years now. Amazing how much can change in four years. I have
evolved as a cyclist, this web site has de-evolved as an information
source, I have gone on some great rides, met some interesting people,
made new friends and sadly lost friends in 2010. Dave Blumenthal and Josef Schmutterer. In
training for the Tour Divide we fruititiously created The Washington 55
which we hope to ride with friends this year. The nascent
(and not yet officially named) XVtMtBR proved to be a blast two years ago! This year we hope to add to the several
hundred miles we explored. The Vermont Eco- Tour was reborn this year as
the Central Vermont Cycle Tour. It was going to be a fundraiser
for the Cross
Vermont Trail Association but instead became a fundraiser for Dave.
As always, we will ride a Fleche; most likely the NE Fleche which bull's eyes in Dorset, Vermont? (!) And maybe try to get a place in PBP - but more likely to put the emphasis on riding with friends and making new ones.
